About the Presenter
Jason Snook has a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from Virginia Tech. He heads up the User Experience (UX) Service Offering at CapTech Consulting, where he is a Director. A self-described “quant,” he believes that superior digital experiences hinge on solid research and data. He has over 12 years of UX experience, helping companies design systems that are easier and more effective for customers and employees.
With the explosion of interest in wearable technology, UX practitioners need to be focused on designing experiences that intuitively fit within the rhythms and ecosystem of a user’s life. Key to this will be considerations such as interaction design, adoption theory, and even the social aspects (and stigmas) of this new technology paradigm. This talk will give a historical perspective on technology adoption as it relates to wearables and then take attendees through a number of the issues and challenges that lay ahead to realize the full potential of wearable experiences.
