About the Presenter
Ryan Shriver is the Director of Technology with SingleStone, a company focused on helping our customers improve their customer’s experiences. There he leads a team of designers, analysts and developers who engineer for the human experience using innovate methods and tools.
Ryan also covers cloud and DevOps as an analyst for Gigaom Research. When he’s not chasing his two young kids around their Bellevue neighborhood, Ryan teaches design thinking to undergraduates in VCUart’s department of graphic design.
Dave Tashner is Ryan’s co-presenter and a Technology Consultant at SingleStone focusing mainly on cloud engineering and DevOps. With a background in operations and technical support, Dave is moving firmly into the realm of infrastructure as code and Amazon Web Services and helping clients iterate more quickly and efficiently.
When Dave isn’t fully submerged in the muddy world of servers and networking, he can usually be found on Monument Avenue playing guitar or camping in the remote woods of western Virginia.
DevOps is rapidly growing in popularity as Agile moves beyond software development. Today DevOps is seemingly everything to everybody – a convenient label to slap on products, services, job titles and webinars to name a few.
In this interactive session, Ryan Shriver and Dave Tashner of SingleStone cut through the confusion and clearly define DevOps from the technology and human perspectives. While discussing the cultural elements of DevOps on people and their organizations we’ll sprinkle in demos of way cool code that’ll excite your inner geek!
Whether an IT leader, agile coach or a hardcore engineer, this session has something for you. Leave with a clearer understanding of DevOps including some great ideas and code you can start using Monday.
